Two Individuals Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges following the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.

Watkins, 48, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
