British Military Sites to Accommodate Asylum Seekers in Effort to Terminate Hotel-Based Usage
Hundreds asylum seekers might be housed in defense installations as the authorities seeks to end the reliance of temporary lodging.
Discussions are ongoing regarding the conversion of two locations - a facility in the Scottish region and another in the south of England - for accommodation for 900 men.
The PM has instructed Domestic Affairs and Defense Department representatives to accelerate initiatives to locate suitable defense facilities.
The government has pledged to eliminate the operation of temporary hotel accommodations, which have consumed billions of pounds and become a focal point for anti-migrant protests.
Planned Military Sites
Asylum seekers could be accommodated in the Inverness barracks in Highland region and Crowborough army training camp in East Sussex by the end of next month.
Industrial sites, short-term shelter and previously unused facilities are also being examined for future accommodation.
Government Assurances
Authoritative figures confirmed that every facility would adhere to wellbeing requirements.
"We are extremely concerned at the level of illegal migrants and temporary hotel accommodations."
"This government will shut down every asylum hotel. Preparations are advancing rapidly, with better facilities being proposed to reduce burden for local areas and decrease migrant housing expenditures."
Present Shelter Figures
Approximately 32,000 individuals seeking protection are presently being accommodated in temporary lodging, representing a decrease from a peak of more than 56 thousand in last year.
A recent report found that multiple billions of public funds had been "squandered" on asylum accommodation.
Previous Defense Site Usage
Two former military sites - former RAF base in southeastern England and former military base in Kent - are presently being operated to house refugee applicants after being opened under the prior leadership.
The Prime Minister commented on the developments, saying: "We remain resolved to close all asylum hotels. Words cannot describe how frustrated and angry I am that we've been left with a mess as substantial as this by the former leadership."
